Class Title: Hydrangea Wall Hanging

Class Description: With Spring coming, bring the garden into your home with this hydrangea wall hanging. Learn a new dimensional technique to bring the flower to life on your wall.

Pattern/book required: "Petal by Petal" Joan Shay, recommended

Fabric required: 1 fat quarter for background fabric

1/4 yd fabric for narrow border

3/4 yd wide border and binding fabric

1/4 yd each of four to five different values of leaf color

1/4 yd each of four different values of flower color

3/4 yd backing fabric

3/4 yd batting

½ yd. Steam-a-Seam

thread - 1 spool of each color

green to blend with leaves

color to blend with flowers

color to blend with background and borders

OR: one spool invisible thread and basic bobbin thread

Safety pins for basting.

Kit required or available: none

Machine needed? yes, with ability to do free motion stitching

Basic supplies/Special items required: ROTARY CUTTING SUPPLIES (MAT, CUTTER, RULERS)

SEWING SUPPLIES (MACHINE, THREAD, SCISSORS, PINS, RIPPER)

WALKING FOOT IF AVAILABLE, free motion foot, paper scissors, fabric scissors, acid free glue stick
